Stasera, il Coordinamento antifascista cagliaritano insieme agli studenti del Collettivo universitario autonomo Casteddu, al Social Forum Cagliari e Collettivo Carraxu hanno contestato lo scrittore israeliano David Grossman. L’incontro con lo scrittore era stato pensato come un’intervista senza possibilità di dibattito e di interventi da parte del pubblico. Gli antifascisti, molti dei quali studenti, dopo essere passati al vaglio dei controlli di polizia per entrare in un’aula magna di un’Università, si sono distribuiti nella sala gremita di gente, appena dopo la presentazione dell’iniziativa, hanno srotolato le bandiere palestinesi e hanno fatto richiesta di poter porre alcune domande allo scrittore riguardanti: Nakba palestinese, diritto al ritorno dei profughi, occupazione militare israeliana, operazione “Piombo Fuso”. La richiesta del coordinamento è stata dirottata alla fine dell’intervista e senza possibilità di replica, ostacolata dagli organizzatori e da un pubblico, applaudente e fanatico di una letteratura slegata tutto, sordo alle pieghe del discorso di Grossman che anche oggi ha negato il dramma palestinese e la verità. In quanto antifascisti e antirazzisti e quindi anche antisionisti, rifiutiamo: la doppia legislazione introdotta dallo Stato israeliano ai danni del popolo palestinese; i bombardamenti indiscriminati, i rastrellamenti notturni e le detenzioni amministrative di cui sono vittime anche i minori; l’embargo su Gaza, l’occupazione militare israeliana e lo stato di apartheid in cui è obbligato il popolo palestinese privato di ogni suo diritto. Rifiutiamo la costruzione del muro con cui lo Stato israeliano si espande in territori palestinesi secondo una logica di “spazio vitale”; i rigidi sistemi di controllo e i check points. Rifiutiamo quello che nel suo insieme si rivela come un’autentica operazione di pulizia etnica ai danni di un intero popolo. Oggi, abbiamo voluto denunciare l’operazione subdola con cui la politica Israeliana entra anche a Cagliari sotto la maschera buona di alcuni scrittori, come il Grossman, appartenenti ad una sedicente area della sinistra progressista israeliana, che ampio consenso riceve in Occidente, ma che non cessa per il fatto di dichiararsi di sinistra di essere sionista. Grossman “uomo del dialogo” e “ambasciatore di pace” è stato favorevole all’aggressione israeliana in Libano nel 2006, all’operazione Piombo Fuso su Gaza nel 2008-2009, ferreo negatore del diritto al ritorno, favorevole alla soluzione dei due stati e sostenitore della legalità dell’occupazione militare. Lo scrittore israeliano si limita ad invocare la pace e, inoltre, nega tutte le condizioni che la renderebbero possibile. Contro la discriminazione del popolo palestinese e la negazione di ogni suo diritto, come antifascisti, antirazzisti e, perciò, antisionisti, oggi, abbiamo voluto denunciare e smascherare l’ipocrisia di vuote parole di pace che celano violenza. Tra diritto e forza, non chiamiamo dialogo il diritto del più forte, che mira all’eliminazione definitiva dell’ avversario, con le sue giuste rivendicazioni e legittime opposizioni.

Ieri domenica 19 maggio, alle 18 l’aula magna del corpo aggiunto del Magistero era già piena. Per l’incontro con David Grossman, organizzato all’interno del festival Tuttestorie, è stata scomodata persino l’Università di Cagliari, aperta per l’occasione in un giorno festivo. Attesissimo lo scrittore israeliano sia per quanto riguarda il mondo dei libri sia per le sue prese di posizione politiche sul conflitto israelo-palestinese: nelle ultime settimane ha contribuito ad accendere il dibattito in città la proposta da parte del consigliere comunale Davide Carta, marito della presidente del festival, di investire Grossman della cittadinanza onoraria.
Ma veniamo alla giornata di ieri.
Subito, a riprova della tensione cresciuta in città negli ultimi giorni, siamo stati testimoni del trattamento riservato da ufficiali di polizia in borghese ad una ragazza che indossava la Kefiah e che voleva partecipare all’incontro. La funzionaria di polizia minacciava, davanti alle persone che cominciavano ad affluire all’incontro, la ragazza dicendole che l’avrebbero portata via per i capelli, con la contrarietà dei presenti che non riuscivano a comprendere un comportamento tanto al di sopra delle righe da parte della funzionaria. Perquisizioni e controllo dei documenti all’ingresso dell’edificio hanno contribuito a creare un checkpoint improvvisato che stonava alquanto con la natura dell’istituzione universitaria.
L’incontro comincia puntuale ma dopo le introduzioni, quando la parola dovrebbe passare a David Grossman, parte la contestazione di una quarantina di persone che, bandiere della Palestina alla mano, chiedono di poter porre delle domande all’ospite. Dopo un attimo di confusione viene trovato un accordo con gli organizzatori e così può cominciare l’incontro, un botta e risposta con l’intervistatore.
La parte più interessante per capire il pensiero di Grossman arriva quando il dibattito verte sul concetto di casa. Grossman esprime per l’occazione concetti che a molti hanno fatto storcere il naso, il discorso si sposta infatti velocemente sulla quotidianità della vita israeliana resa precaria dai continui cambiamenti dei confini dello stato israeliano, questa precarietà e continuo essere in guerra lo porta a considerare la vita del suo popolo come una non-vita sempre in bilico sul filo della sopravvivenza. Qualche parola sulla condizione palestinese giusto per addolcire delle parole che sanno di amaro per chi conosce e vive quella realtà e che infatti fanno rumoreggiare la sala.
Quando viene data la parola al pubblico chi prende la parola pone principalmente tre questioni per capire la posizione di Grossman rispetto alla Nakba, la catastrofe del popolo palestinese che coincide con la nascita dello stato di Israele. Un aspetto riguarda il fatto che negare la Nakba, sarebbe equivalente a negare la Shoah. L’accento viene inoltre posto sulle dichiarazioni di contrarietà espresse da Grossman in altre occasioni rispetto al ritorno dei profughi palestinesi. L’ultimo nodo cruciale riguarda invece i confini e la creazione dello stato palestinese. La risposta di Grossman appare superficiale ed evasiva, il suo intervento gira tutto intorno alla impossibilità di paragonare la Shoah alla Nakba, affermazione che stravolge strumentalmente il senso della domanda. Alle domande successive, invece, non arriverà alcuna risposta. Tra quelle inevase rimarrà, alla fine, quella più spinosa sul ritorno dei palestinesi, tema sul quale si era invece espresso in altri incontri e che lo vedeva contrario in quanto avrebbe costretto gli ebrei ad essere minoranza nel loro stato. Glisserà anche sui confini e sul concetto “due popoli due stati” terminando l’intervento con un retorico ma applaudito «domande di questo tipo non vedo perché debbano essere fatta alla mia persona». Affermazione che stupisce chi si è recato all’università per sentire rispondere anche a questo tipo di domande, come Enrico del Coordinamento Antifascista che commenta: «Ci sembra incredibile sentirci rispondere in questo modo da uno scrittore che fino all’altro giorno ha rilasciato pesanti dichiarazioni politiche e che oggi davanti alla contestazione si trincera dietro il suo ruolo di scrittore».
Si conclude così la giornata che vede l’archiviazione momentanea del conferimento della cittadinanza onoraria per David Grossman e quindi una piccola vittoria per la comunità palestinese della nostra città e per chi, da cagliaritano, conosce a fondo il dramma dell’allontanamento dei palestinesi dalla loro terra.
